Hello and welcome, my name is Keith and I have created this website to show you how to build your own sidecar from home.

To date I have custom built over 30 sidecars for clients as well as a few for my own use. I specialise in fitting sidecars to BMW GS motorcycles however the chassis / frame / swing-arm combo I will show you how to make can be made to fit any bike. Some examples of sidecars I've built are shown below. 

There are many ways to build a sidecar. In designing my rigs my ambition was to build something that was robust, fun to ride and easy and straight forward to produce.

This was to be a sidecar that didnt require expensive parts and machinery to create. I also wanted it to be easily detachable... by simply removing 3 bolts in a few minutes your bike is back to a solo again. 

The end result is a sidecar named Smiling Wind which I build from start to finish from my small outdoor workshop on a farm in South Africa.
